Algolia is looking to build and scale its global developer marketing strategy to inspire, educate, and engage developers, ultimately driving developer adoption and advocacy for its search and discovery APIs.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of marketing experience, with 5+ in developer marketing, developer relations, or technical community leadership.
  • Deep understanding of developer audiences, culture, and engagement channels.
  • A proven track record in building and scaling global developer programs.
  • Strong network in the developer community and familiarity with platforms like GitHub, Dev.to, Hacker News,etc
  • Experience managing large budgets across paid, events, and community programs.
  • Experience managing distributed teams across multiple functions.

Responsibilities

  • Set the strategy for developer marketing globally, ensuring we speak with an authentic voice across all channels and programs.
  • Own and develop key partnerships with developer-facing communities and influencers (Hacker News, Hackernoon, etc.).
  • Oversee developer events strategy, including conference sponsorships, speaking engagements, workshops, and creative activations like SwagSearch.
  • Lead flagship developer acquisition programs like DocSearch, our Open Source/Startup Programs, and startup outreach, ensuring they deliver measurable developer engagement.
  • Direct paid marketing for developers, including advertising campaigns, sponsorships, and experimental acquisition channels.
  • Manage budgets for growth events, paid media, and community initiatives, ensuring high ROI on spend.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and GTM teams to ensure developer needs inform roadmap and messaging.
