The company is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead device development across mechanical design, electrical design, and firmware development.
Requirements
- Proven expertise in mechanical design, PCB design, and embedded firmware development
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, DFM (Design for Manufacturability), and DFT (Design for Testability)
- Experience with embedded systems architecture, microcontrollers, and real-time operating systems (RTOS)
- Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks), PCB design tools (Altium), and firmware development tools
- Strong understanding of IoT connectivity (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LTE, LoRa, Zigbee, etc.) and power management
- Experience with regulatory compliance testing and industry standards
- Familiarity with cloud integration, edge computing, and cybersecurity for IoT devices
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the engineering roadmap for device development
- Lead and mentor mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineering teams
- Establish and optimize development processes, tools, and best practices
- Ensure integration of mechanical, electrical, and firmware components for optimal device performance
- Evaluate and implement new technologies, materials, and manufacturing techniques
- Lead design reviews, risk assessments, and failure analysis for continuous improvement
- Assist in quality assurance and testing processes to ensure product reliability
Other
- 10+ years of experience in hardware and embedded systems development, with at least 5+ years in an engineering leadership role
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Residing in Greater Los Angeles
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
