Requirements
- Doctorate degree in a scientific field
- Strong knowledge in discovery and technology platforms
- Experience in drug development industry and/or biopharma business development
- Management and/or leadership experience in business and drug development activities
- Strong technical R&D experience along with business development and licensing experience
- Experience with small molecule drug discovery and oncology therapeutic area
- Familiarity with technology platforms that support oncology therapeutic area
Responsibilities
- Leading Amgen's search and evaluation of external partnerships focusing on small molecule drug discovery and technologies that support oncology therapeutic area
- Negotiating and executing transactions for external partnerships
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with the business's broader goals
- Developing and nurturing a global network of key industry and academic contacts
- Managing the search and identification of opportunities through networking and reviews of the external landscape
- Leading technical evaluations of opportunities by creating and managing cross-functional review teams
- Providing recommendations based on robust scientific and drug industry knowledge
Other
- 4 years of experience in drug development industry and/or biopharma business development (for Doctorate degree holders)
- 7 years of experience in drug development industry and/or biopharma business development (for Master's degree holders)
- 9 years of experience in R&D and/or biopharma business development (for Bachelor's degree holders)
- Strong leadership, scientific, organizational, communication, and project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent presentation skills
- Professional demeanor with strong decision making
