Verily is seeking a leader for their Product Analytics & Data Engineering group to bridge the gap between complex data infrastructure and actionable product insights, driving future innovation in healthcare through a data-driven approach and AI technologies.
Requirements
- Extensive experience with BI and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI) and product analytics platforms.
- Working knowledge of data engineering concepts, including data warehousing (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift), data modeling principles, and ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Experience with modern data stack tools like dbt, Airflow, or Fivetran.
- Experience working with healthcare data modalities (e.g., EMR/EHR, claims, genomics, clinical trial data) and an understanding of related privacy standards (e.g., HIPAA).
Responsibilities
- Own the full product analytics lifecycle, from defining key performance indicators (KPIs) and instrumentation requirements to deep-dive analysis, A/B testing, and user behavior modeling.
- Lead the Data Engineering team to design, build, and maintain a scalable and reliable data infrastructure for analytics, while championing data quality and governance, and establishing processes to maintain the integrity of our core datasets.
- Use data-powered insights and compelling data narratives to inform product strategy, feature prioritization, and roadmap development in close partnership with Verily’s product teams (Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers).
- Directing highly technical employees, fostering a culture of collaboration and professional growth.
- Working knowledge of data engineering concepts, including data warehousing (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift), data modeling principles, and ETL/ELT pipelines.

- A degree in computer or data science, engineering, and or related life science field with 8+ years of experience in data analytics, product analytics, or a related field, and 3+ years in a people management or team lead role.
- Direct experience in cultivating and directing highly technical employees, fostering a culture of collaboration and professional growth.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills with a proven ability to influence and build strong relationships with cross-functional stakeholders (Product, Marketing, Finance, etc.).
- Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in computer or data science, engineering, and or related life science field with 10+ years of experience in data analytics, product analytics, or a related field, and 5+ years in a people management role.
- Experience working in healthcare, health tech, care delivery, or research.
- Experience working with successful, large-scale mobile and web applications, and understanding of consumer analytics.
