Nexstar Media Inc. is seeking to elevate and oversee all aspects of dynamic, real-time broadcast graphics, champion innovative production and master control workflows, and manage advanced graphic systems to bridge technical and operational teams.

Requirements

  • Extensive hands-on experience with Newsticker, Chyron Prime, Ross XPression graphics systems, OverDrive automation, newsroom integrations, production switchers, studio video wall controllers as well as Florical and master control workflows.
  • Advanced scripting skills (VBScript, JavaScript) and solid working knowledge of HTML and CSS for troubleshooting, workflow automation, and template development.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as subject matter expert for the full suite of Ross Video XPression products (Designer, ClipStore, Streamline, Project Server), overseeing installation, configuration, and ongoing workflow management for all on-air graphics.
  • Partner with creative leadership, engineering, and newsroom teams to design, implement, and maintain production graphic workflows.
  • Provide up to date documentation on all training and workflow processes.
  • Support, train, and mentor end users on graphics software (MOS templates, Newsroom Plugin), providing hands-on guidance to ensure optimal utilization and system health.
  • Recommend and implement new graphics technologies, evaluating and integrating advancements to strengthen Nexstar’s creative and technical infrastructure.
  • Build strong relationships with both internal teams and external vendors to troubleshoot issues, facilitate upgrades, and ensure seamless production operations.
  • Effectively manage vendor support for stations.

Other

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Engineering, or related technical field; or equivalent mix of formal education and significant experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in live television broadcast environments, with demonstrable expertise in engineering and production control.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally, “speak the language of the newsroom and master control,” and translate between creative and technical disciplines.
  • Detail-oriented, strongly organized, and able to manage concurrent tasks and deadlines with composure.
  • Ability to travel 30-40% as needed to support Nexstar properties nationwide.
