At Siemens Mobility, Inc., the Rolling Stock (RS) business unit, the North American market leader in passenger rail vehicles, is seeking a Director of Quality Management to lead all aspects of internal quality and supplier quality. This role is critical to maintaining the integrity of their rolling stock business segment, manufacturing processes, and delivering high-quality products to customers by implementing and overseeing quality management systems, controls, and tools.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of quality assurance experience in complex manufacturing environments.
  • Solid understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma).
  • Expertise in lean manufacturing and digital process automation preferred.
  • Proficiency in quality management software and tools.
  • Experience in rail-bound transit vehicle projects or manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements in the manufacturing and rail industries.
  • Certifications (e.g., ASQ Manager of Quality, Six Sigma Black Belt) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all quality aspects of the customer journey, from proposals and project preparation to implementation and delivery, applying feedback tools like NPS (Net Promoter Score).
  • Monitor quality performance data to identify trends and drive improvements.
  • Lead digital transformation initiatives to enhance process efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Conduct audits to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance policies for vendor-supplied materials.
  • Leading and handling quality improvement functions within the organization.
  • Driving process excellence throughout the organization, focusing on Quality, Safety, Lean, Six Sigma, ISO, and general operations.

Other

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality Management, or a related field, Master’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management preferred
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven leadership and team-building abilities.
  • Communicate quality-related updates effectively to customers and authorities.
  • Collaborate with HR to lead training and development for quality-related skills.
