JPMorgan Chase is looking for a Director of Software Engineering to lead a technical area and promote impact across teams, technologies, and projects within various departments, leveraging extensive knowledge of software, applications, technical processes, and product management to oversee multiple complex projects and initiatives.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience
- 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
- Deep expertise building and operating large scale high performance environments with distributed systems and cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)
- Deep expertise with enterprise design patterns and industry best practices with experience using modern technology (e.g., Java, Cassandra, Kafka) and design patterns (e.g., microservices, APIs)
- Practical cloud native experience
- Experience with implementing industry standard risk, cybersecurity & technology controls
- Experience working at code level
Responsibilities
- Leads technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives
- Makes decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures
- Carries governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations
- Delivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains
- Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams
- Champions the firm’s culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
