JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer Banking - Deposits team is looking for a Director of Software Engineering to lead a technical area and drive impact across teams, technologies, and projects. The role involves overseeing complex projects, making strategic decisions, and fostering innovation to deliver technical solutions.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience.
- 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise.
- Experience developing or leading cross-functional teams of technologists
- Practical cloud native experience
- Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
Responsibilities
- Leads technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives
- Drives the implementation of robust observability frameworks to ensure technology solutions are measurable, maintainable, and aligned with governance standards for cost and operational efficiency.
- Makes strategic decisions on operational tooling and procedures, balancing budget constraints with the need for resilient, maintainable systems that meet firm-wide objectives.
- Carries governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations
- Influences the adoption of automated deployment and integration pipelines, fostering collaboration between product, technology, and business teams while upholding the firm’s values of diversity and inclusion.
- Delivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains
