Abbott is seeking a visionary Director of Solutions Architecture to lead innovative technology initiatives within Abbott’s Digital Products and Services group, driving the advancement of technology design and innovation across Abbott’s global businesses.
Requirements
- 10+ years of Software Engineering experience.
- Proven experience in building/implementing high-performance & scalable server-side applications.
- Technical leadership skills in driving architecture, making strategic technical trade-offs, and promoting best practices.
- Advanced-level knowledge of 3 or more of the following technologies: AI/GenAI, mobile/web frameworks, multi-cloud, security and privacy, event streaming, distributed system design, microservices.
- Experience implementing large scale AI/GenAI use cases in production.
- A strong background in development and design is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement cutting-edge technology solutions, mentor engineers, and act as a technology evangelist in architectural best practices and ways of working.
- Serve as a catalyst for innovation, focusing on AI and emerging technologies.
- Lead technology programs from ideation to production, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technological feasibility.
- Rapidly build prototypes to drive business innovation and ideate new technology capabilities.
- Collaborate with other Engineers and Architects to establish and uphold engineering best practices through solid design decisions, processes, and tools.
- Set strategic goals and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple technologies and platforms.
- Work across product teams to architect, build, and design next-generation technology platforms that enhance Abbott’s competitive edge.
