Zuora's Payments team is at the center of our strategy to enable customers to maximize revenue and minimize risk in the Subscription Economy. Payments are no longer just a back-office function but a strategic lever for growth, customer experience, and operational efficiency. As Director of Payments Product Management, you will lead a team driving Zuora's payments roadmap; everything related to payments gateway and payment method coverage, orchestration, merchant experiences, operations, and optimization.
Requirements
- 10+ years in product management, with at least 5 years leading payments-related products (orchestration, gateways, fraud, processing, collections, AR automation).
- Prior experience with card processing, 3DS, CIT/MIT frameworks, tokenization, and payment networks.
- Proven experience in transaction cost analysis and initiatives to reduce processing expense.
- Skilled in customer-centric product development, translating enterprise merchant needs into scalable solutions.
- Strong ownership and execution track record, including launching products with external network and banking partners.
- Hands-on experience improving checkout flows, managing SDKs, and merchant-facing payment solutions.
- Technical fluency with REST APIs, microservices, and client-server models.
Responsibilities
- Establish and drive the Payments product strategy, aligning with company objectives and market opportunities.
- Build and execute on the product roadmap for payment processing, enabling merchant success and reducing friction.
- Partner with engineering, business analytics, finance, program management, legal, and external banking/network partners to deliver features collaboratively and inclusively.
- Ensure payment products meet global compliance and regulatory requirements (PCI-DSS, PSD2, etc.) while supporting innovation.
- Drive prioritization decisions through clearly defined goals, metrics, and KPIs.
- Own Zuora's payment APIs and approval rate analytics, improving transaction performance and routing strategies.
- Deliver new capabilities for merchant onboarding, integration, checkout flows, tokenization, fraud controls, and card network interactions.

- Lead and grow a high-performing team of product managers, setting clear outcomes and ensuring accountability.
- Partner with enterprise merchants, sales, and account teams to gather use cases and translate them into impactful product features.
