Coherent Corp. is looking to grow and improve profitability through better management of specific products, requiring a leader to drive revenue, market share, and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of optical interconnects, silicon photonics, packaging technologies, and data center architectures
- Direct exposure to Co-Packaged Optics, pluggable transceivers, or related optical components.
- Familiarity with hyperscaler and switch/ASIC vendor ecosystems.
- Experience in managing partnerships with foundries, packaging houses, and contract manufacturers.
- Knowledge and understanding of financial instruments: P&L, balance sheet, income statement
- In depth understanding of the value proposition in existing and new market segments
- Development of product roadmaps
Responsibilities
- Drive product engineering teams to design and develop manufacturable standard and customized products to achieve market share leadership
- Work with Product Development teams to ensure new products are done on schedule and on budget with improvements in cycle time
- Ensure engineering products/processes are transitioned effectively into production products and processes
- Assist R&D and supply chain in identifying new vendors/CMs and participate in negotiations with key CMs/suppliers
- Develop product requirements into new designs and prototypes which meet or exceed our competitors and are delivered within customer requirements
- Ensure reliability and qualification test data sets are current to support market opportunities
- Assist in defining and driving product strategy
Other
- Travel up to 40% is anticipated.
- BA or BS in Engineering required. MBA or MS/PhD in Engineering strongly preferred
- 10+ years of experience in Product Management/Engineering Leadership roles in the materials or related industry
- The ideal candidate will have significant business experience (Product Management, Engineering, Operations Management, R&D and/or Product Marketing) in a technical environment combined with and a track record of success
- Ability to easily and successfully work with employees and customers in a multi-cultural, global team environment
