Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine (J&J IM) needs to establish and govern an end-to-end mastering capability for product-related data across the entire R&D to Commercial continuum, ensuring trusted, harmonized, and semantically consistent product master data to enable advanced analytics, AI/ML, regulatory compliance, and global interoperability.
Requirements
- Demonstrated expertise in master data management, ontology development, and knowledge graph applications.
- Proven track record of integrating product data across discovery, development, clinical, regulatory, and commercial domains.
- Strong understanding of product data standards
- Hands-on experience with metadata management, ontologies, and graph-based integration technologies.
- Ability to connect scientific, regulatory, and commercial perspectives into a unified product mastering framework.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute a mastering strategy covering the full product lifecycle: from discovery compounds → preclinical entities → development products (PTDS) → clinical trial identifiers → regulatory designations → commercial brand names.
- Ensure a single, authoritative source of truth for all product-related master data, harmonized across functions and systems.
- Lead the development and governance of a Product Ontology that links compounds, formulations, regulatory identifiers, and brand entities.
- Apply knowledge graph technologies to connect product data across TD, PSTS, PTDS, clinical, regulatory, and commercial domains.
- Establish stewardship, ownership, and governance models for product master data across R&D and Commercial.
- Define and enforce standards for product hierarchies, nomenclature, and lifecycle transitions.
- Work with IT (JJT) to evaluate and implement enabling technologies for ontology, graph-based integration, and master data platforms.

- Master’s or PhD in life sciences, regulatory sciences, informatics, data science, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in pharma/biotech R&D or commercial functions, with significant exposure to product lifecycle and regulatory data.
- Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to influence and drive adoption of product mastering practices across global organizations.
