GEP is seeking a Director of SDET to lead and elevate their Quality Engineering team, aiming to establish a world-class automation-first culture and architect scalable testing frameworks for their global SaaS platform.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in test automation, quality frameworks, and modern SDLC tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, TestNG, JIRA, Zephyr, etc.).
- Hands-on knowledge of building test strategies for cloud-native SaaS applications (preferably on AWS/Azure).
- Strong understanding of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and test integration strategies.
- Experience with low-code/no-code testing platforms and AI-powered automation bots.
- Exposure to security testing tools (e.g., OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite) and performance testing tools (e.g., Gatling, BlazeMeter).
- Track record of scaling test teams and processes in high-growth software organizations.
- Experience with tools like Selenium, Cypress
Responsibilities
- Architect and evolve automation frameworks using tools like Selenium, Cypress, and next-generation AI-driven platforms.
- Drive the adoption of AI/ML-powered testing strategies, including self-healing test scripts and predictive quality analytics to enhance speed and reliability.
- Lead initiatives across functional, performance, security, and resilience testing disciplines.
- Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Professional Services to embed quality engineering throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Champion shift-left testing practices, automation-first approaches, and continuous testing methodologies in Agile environments.
- Establish, monitor, and continuously improve key quality metrics such as test coverage, defect density, cycle time, and release quality.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) efforts during escalations and oversee preventive action planning.
Other
- 12–18 years of experience in quality engineering, with at least 4–5 years in leadership roles managing distributed SDET teams.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Serve as a senior quality advocate, collaborating closely with product leaders, engineering teams, and strategic customers.
- Benchmark internal practices against top-tier SaaS organizations to ensure we remain at the forefront of quality engineering innovation.
- Background in enterprise SaaS, procurement/supply chain platforms, or regulated environments (e.g., healthcare, BFSI).
