Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is looking for a Director of Software Engineering 2 for the Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) Division Engineering organization to provide strategic oversight of 2 functional homeroom directorates driving common engineering processes, tools, and technical developmental and training resources in support of engineering employees and managers across the Division portfolio.

Requirements

  • Experience in a formal management/lead position
  • Extensive CAM/P&L experience
  • Management experience leading a technical and complex program effort.
  • Experience developing and administering budgets and standards of performance
  • Experience in developing and implementing technologies associated with production processes with efficient and sustainable implementation
  • Master's degree or higher in engineering or related scientific discipline
  • Knowledge and experience with IFC and Agile software development in a classified environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic oversight of 2 directorates enabling software engineering execution across the SDS Division portfolio of programs while reporting to the Strategic Deterrent Systems Division’s Engineering Homeroom Vice President.
  • Drive partnership of Functional Homeroom directorates with Segments, Program Management Team and Program Leadership to define and enable execution of the Software statement of work in alignment with the customer SOW
  • Responsible for allocation and management of directorate indirect budget for maximum program impact
  • Create and deploy staff training campaign, prioritizing program execution and staff technical/ professional development
  • Technical ownership, compliance enforcement and continuous improvement of domain-related Principles and Operating Practice (PrOP)
  • Oversee promotion, merit/bonus processes for subordinate tech for supported programs, ensuring consistency with sector schedule and guidelines
  • Serve as delegation of authority (DOA) to FHR VP for program, division and/or sector activities as directed
