Fidelity is looking to solve the problem of leading cross-functional development teams in an Agile software development framework to modify existing software, develop new applications, and improve performance.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated Expertise (DE) defining application architecture strategies and solutions, and establishing reusable capabilities and patterns, using Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint;
  • DE re-platforming and migrating legacy mainframe applications to distributed platforms and solutions using Spring Batch implementations;
  • DE analyzing mainframe batch flows and programs in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and stored procedures;
  • DE migrating and rebuilding stored procedures from DB2 to Oracle PL/SQL, using Q Replication (QREP) and Informatica PowerCenter;
  • DE tuning complex queries to ensure jobs and ETL flows run efficiently, using SQL.
  • Experience with Informatica ETL and Oracle Database Architecture Modeling.
  • Experience with UNIX shell and Windows batch scripts and PL/SQL programming.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and influences roadmap design and direction.
  • Designs and architects complex software solutions.
  • Determines system performance standards.
  • Defines and implements application-level architecture.
  • Contributes to estimates, solutions, and code reviews.
  • Participates in architecture design teams.
  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.

Other

  • Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Information Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field and six (6) years of experience as a Director, Software Engineering.
  • Alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Information Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field and four (4) years of experience as a Director, Software Engineering.
  • Must be able to work onsite every other week (all business days, M-F) in a Fidelity office.
  • Must be able to meet project goals on-time and on-budget.
  • Must be able to advise senior management on technical strategy.
