Optum AI is looking to develop and support an enterprise AI/ML development platform, United AI Studio (UAIS), to transform the health care journey through responsible AI/ML innovation. The Director, Software Engineering will oversee development efforts and architectural designs for UAIS, guiding project vision and driving platform adoption across the organization.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with working in any cloud environment - Azure, AWS, GCP
- Solid expertise in cloud security and ability to built highly secure enterprise platforms.
- Proven deep computer science fundamentals including Algorithms, Data Structures, and practical applications of these to build software systems
- Proven good understanding of the architecture and good experience in design activities (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling).
- Proven knowledge on technology stack like Java (Spring Boot), REST APIs, Python,
- Experience working in a complex, service-oriented service development.
- Working experience in AI/ML engineering domain and understanding of MLOps
Responsibilities
- Lead engineering team for conceptualizing, designing, developing, and maintaining vital elements of UAIS Platform
- Raise the bar on excellence in execution in terms of quality, timeliness, and scalability
- Take accountability for Key Engineering Metrics of the platform namely Availability, response time metrics, Time to Value and Time to build
- Develop and Evolve Engineering and product roadmap of UAIS
- Recommends applicable technical patterns and solutions that are aligned with architectural guiding principles and standards through a regular cadence of delivery and continuous improvement initiatives
- Deep technical expertise to review designs and architectures
- Drives technology modernization activities with architects and engineering teams including a shift to modular, data centric, open-source, and cloud-native technologies
Other
- Oversee development efforts and architectural designs, guide project vision on United AI Studio, hire and develop engineering talent.
- Manage a team to design, develop, test, and deploy scalable services.
- Work with customers, product owners, architects, other engineering teams and leaders - solving their use cases using playbooks from United AI Studio to drive the adoption of the platform across the organization.
- Collaborate with counterparts in other Geographical locations to ensure smooth execution of critical projects across the board
