BD is seeking a Director of Software Test to lead their global software testing organization and ensure the quality and reliability of software that powers their laboratory instruments and enterprise informatics platform.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing a software test or QA team
- Proven experience in a regulated industry, preferably medical device, in-vitro diagnostics (IVD), or a related healthcare field
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing a comprehensive software test strategy for a complex product ecosystem, including both embedded and enterprise software
- Extensive experience with agile development methodologies and implementing agile testing practices
- Strong background in test automation, including the development and implementation of automation frameworks and strategies
- In-depth knowledge of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices
- Experience with test management and automation tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, Selenium, Appium)
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the execution of strategic software testing priorities that align with our product roadmap and business objectives.
- Define and oversee the implementation of a comprehensive test strategy that covers all aspects of our software, including embedded software for laboratory instruments and our enterprise informatics platform.
- Champion and implement agile testing best practices, including enabling effective continuous integration, continuous delivery (CI/CD), and automated testing.
- Drive the development and adoption of a robust and scalable test automation framework to deliver impact by improving team efficiency and product quality.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track testing progress, quality trends, and team performance.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including software development, product management, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs, to ensure alignment and a shared understanding of quality objectives.
- Ensure that all software testing activities are conducted in compliance with relevant regulatory standards captured within the design controls and Quality Management System.

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and motivate teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making
- Ability to work on-site at least 4 days per week, with some flexibility for remote work
