Nationwide's Information Technology team is looking for a Director, Technology Portfolio Leader to manage the intake of demand, forecast incoming demand for staffing decisions, track financials, build talent, provide portfolio visibility, optimize resource allocation, and ensure operational metrics are achieved.

Requirements

  • Responsible for the build portfolio management, run budget performance and forecasting; including business case outcomes and expenses.
  • Provides overall direction to and guidance to strategic and operational activities while ensuring all projects, tasks and activities are aligned with the technology strategy, lean principles and financial standards.
  • Oversees the preparation and maintenance of financial estimates, business cases and data analysis.
  • Drives project intake, prioritization, demand management, review of issues, risks and dependencies.
  • Responsible for applying secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure our data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Manages the designs and preparation of delivery status/health reports, Planview data/reports, value delivery tracking, and manages multiple demand/capacity elements.
  • Responsible for resource allocations and assignments using standard tools.

Responsibilities

  • Handling the intake of demand from multiple sources – clarifying with key stakeholders key aspects of the demand (readiness, fit with priorities, timing, etc); prioritizing and sequencing work for emerging technology and technology innovation
  • Making sure we have a good forecast of incoming demand so we can make decisions around staffing and/or prioritization
  • Tracking the actuals and forecast for the financials across various funding source relative to our spend and capacity
  • Ensuring we are continuing to build the talent we need to be responsive to demand – what skills are needed now and in future relative to what we have – identify steps to close gaps
  • Provide visibility into the portfolio by category of work and the resource allocation across ETIC
  • Optimized allocation of our resources (based on talent and skill assessment) to top priorities and in response to constantly changing demand throughout the year; Help to find the right fit for resources as time frees up
  • Responsible for effective value-based communications to all stakeholders on the above items

Other

  • Undergraduate studies (bachelor’s degree preferred) in management information systems, engineering, math, computer science, data analytics or comparable experience and education strongly preferred.
  • Technology certifications or PMI, SAFE, Agile or Lean designations are encouraged.
  • Typically, ten or more years of experience in technology or related field and four years of experience in delivery.
  • 3 years leading a team of professionals.
  • Ability to make decisions, deal with conflict and make recommendations.
