Mastercard is seeking a Director, Workday Technical Lead to manage and guide a team of configuration and integration engineers focused on Workday, driving complex Workday configurations and integrations while developing and mentoring a high-performing engineering team to deliver maximum value to the organization.
Requirements
- 8+ years of hands-on Workday configuration and integration experience across multiple functional areas
- Deep expertise in Workday Studio, Workday Extend, integration tools, and custom reporting capabilities
- Workday certifications in relevant functional areas (HCM, Integration, Security, or Payroll preferred)
- Knowledge of HR and Finance business processes and industry best practices
- Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle Workday implementations or major system upgrades
- Analytical problem-solving approach with attention to detail and quality and a commitment to continuous learning, staying current with Workday platform evolution
- Experience with automation, orchestration, AI integration, and Workday Extend/Studio capabilities
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Workday configuration and integration engineers, providing career guidance and performance management
- Drive the technical strategy and roadmap for Workday implementations, upgrades, and ongoing platform optimization, ensuring we keep a pulse on latest Workday enhancements to benefit our organization
- Oversee complex Workday integrations with internal and third-party systems using tools such as Workday Studio, EIBs, Core Connectors, and APIs
- Manage Workday configuration across multiple functional areas including HCM, Payroll, Talent, Compensation, Security and Recruiting, Benefits, and Time and Leave Tracking
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including HR, Finance, IT, and business leaders to translate requirements into streamlined technical solutions
- Establish and maintain engineering best practices, coding standards, and quality assurance processes for Workday development
- Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex technical issues, ensuring minimal business disruption
Other
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related technical field
- 2+ years of people management experience, with a strong leadership presence and proven track record of building, leading, and inspiring technical teams
- Highly collaborative and adaptable mindset with comfort navigating ambiguity and changing priorities
- Excellent communication skills with ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to participate in budget planning and resource allocation for Workday-related projects and initiatives
