DreamWorks Animation is looking for a Software Engineer to be a technical Product Owner who sets the vision and strategy for tools that empower creative teams, with a focus on product ownership and user experience.
Requirements
- Experience in Javascript, HTML and CSS
- Experience working closely with UX design teams and backend development teams
- Proficiency in modern web application features and design goals (e.g. Web Components, Responsive Design, and Progressive Applications)
- Experience working with Jira or other similar project tracking software
- Background in user research methodologies and synthesizing insights into product strategy
- Awareness of UX design principles and best practices
- Familiarity with Figma and collaborative design workflows
Responsibilities
- Software Design & Development: Partner with technical leadership to validate feasibility of solutions.
- Software Design & Development: Draft low and high fidelity prototypes using tools like Figma.
- Software Design & Development: Ensure design consistency and usability across internal applications.
- Software Design & Development: Manage and maintain the DreamWorks design language system.
- Software Product Ownership: Define and prioritize product backlogs based on user needs, business goals, and technical feasibility.
- Software Product Ownership: Collaborate with UX designers, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality features.
- Requirements Development: Conduct interviews, surveys, and observational studies with internal users to uncover pain points and opportunities.
Other
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Software Engineer or similar role in a creative or tech-driven environment
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
- Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week, and up to five as needed.
- Passion for animation, storytelling, or creative production is a big plus!
