As a Data Scientist at Oshkosh, the business problem is to analyze and interpret datasets by using statistical techniques, machine learning, and/or programming skills in order to extract insights and build models which solve business problems.
Requirements
- Familiarity with data science tools, such as Azure Databricks, Power BI, Microsoft Office (including Excel pivot tables), Spark, Python, R and C.
- Possesses foundational understanding of statistics, machine learning, productization, data models, database design, and database management.
Responsibilities
- Undertake the processing of multiple datasets, including structured and unstructured, to analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns.
- Prepare and concisely deliver analysis results in visual and written forms that communicate data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms of limited complexity.
- With supervision, assist with basic data science assignments, projects, visualization tasks, data quality improvements, and troubleshooting of data incidents.
- Learn to resolve incidents, changes, problems, tasks, and demands.
- Learn new technologies and best practices across data science and business intelligence.
Other
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g. data analysts, engineers, architects, business stakeholders) to understand data science needs for business requirements of limited complexity.
- Bachelors degree with one (1) or more years of experience in the field or in a related area.
