Brunswick is looking for a Dynamometer Test Technician to prepare and execute dynamometer testing for new and current propulsion products, contributing to the innovation of next-generation marine technologies.
Requirements
- Proficiency in disassembly, assembly, troubleshooting, and operation theory of internal combustion engines
- Demonstrated experience using related precision tools and equipment, such as torque wrenches, borescopes, and calipers
- Solid computer skills for data acquisition, report generation, and test management
- Basic experience with machining, welding, and fabrication
- Previous experience with dynamometer testing, engine performance, emissions, or tuning
- Experience with electric motor testing is a strong plus
- Familiarity with AVL Puma software
Responsibilities
- Conduct dyno testing for new and current product
- Rig engines in dyno cell, install and/or connect instrumentation
- Perform engine maintenance for engines on test (oil change, valve lash, spark plugs, oil samples)
- Install/remove engine parts as required (cylinder heads, cams, exhaust, sensors, etc)
- Troubleshoot engine and dyno cell issues, electrical and mechanical
- Fabricate fixtures, test parts, route lines as required by test
- Organize and clean dyno cell and dyno console as needed
Other
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required
- Exceptional attention to detail, especially crucial with written documentation and data recording
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in a dynamic, sometimes noisy or hot/cold test cell environment
- Work is primarily conducted in an engine test cell and laboratory setting, with exposure to noise, fumes, and occasional heavy lifting
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times
