E11 Bio is seeking a Research Associate to support their mission of mapping mammalian brains by reliably and reproducibly generating and processing biological samples.
Requirements
- Experience with molecular biology and microscopy laboratory techniques (e.g. biological sample preparation, immunofluorescence, expansion microscopy, etc.)
- Experience with fluorescence microscopy
- Experience with tissue sectioning
Responsibilities
- Processing of brain tissue and hydrogel samples (including sample sectioning and trimming)
- Optimization and development of sample processing technologies
- Evaluation and quality control of brain samples by fluorescence microscopy
- Coordination and documentation of sample processing pipeline, including sample hand-off
- Experimental validation of new, cutting edge staining reagents in tissue and hydrogel preparations
- Thorough and professional digital documentation of biological sample and reagent preparation
- Development and testing of lab automation systems
Other
- Bachelor degree or equivalent focusing on biological and/or medical sciences (molecular biology, biotechnology, bioengineering, etc.)
- Strong organizational and communication skills and a predisposition to maintain accurate records.
- A willingness and proven history of quickly picking up new processes and adapting to changing needs.
- 2 years laboratory experience as a research associate or equivalent.
- A track record of independently executing well-defined lines of experimental research
