The Tech Interactive needs to design and develop STEM professional learning products and services for educators and adult learners, ensuring they are accessible, inclusive, and impactful for those from low-income and historically marginalized communities.
Requirements
- 3–6 years of experience in instructional design, teacher professional development, learning product design, or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of pedagogy, curriculum design, and adult learning methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to design inclusive and accessible learning experiences.
- Familiarity with design and prototyping tools (Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar).
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in product development.
- Strong analytical skills to translate educator feedback and usage data into design improvements.
- Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Design professional learning products, resources, and experiences that empower educators to foster STEM identity development in learners.
- Apply evidence-based instructional design, adult learning theory, and usability best practices to product design.
- Create prototypes, storyboards, and user flows to communicate design concepts and guide development.
- Lead prototyping sessions with educators and learners, on and off site.
- Ensure designs meet accessibility and equity standards for diverse educator populations.
- Conduct educator interviews, focus groups, pilots, and surveys to inform product design.
- Translate educator and institutional needs into clear design specifications and learning objectives.
Other
- This exempt role reports to the Director of R&D.
- Schedule may include weekend and evening work as programmatic and organizational needs require.
- This is an on-site role with the possibility of flexibility for working some days at an alternative work location.
- Limited travel (domestic) may be required, up to 5%.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Learning Sciences, Instructional Design, or related field required; advanced degree preferred. Equivalent experience considered.
