Dominion Energy is looking to leverage Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) to enhance Electric Distribution workflows and productivity, aiming to improve productivity, knowledge transfer, and technical and engineering analysis.
Requirements
- 7-8+ years related electric utility industry and/or Generative AI experience.
- Deep understanding of Generative AI principles, transformer architectures, and attention mechanisms.
- Experience working with state-of-the-art LLMs (e.g., GPT-4, Claude, LLaMA) and domain-specific fine-tuned models.
- Skilled in prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and chain-of-thought prompting for utility applications
- Experience building and training supervised and unsupervised models for classification, regression, clustering, and anomaly detection
- Familiarity with cloud-based ML platforms (Azure ML, AWS SageMaker, GCP Vertex AI) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Understanding of ML Ops practices (CI/CD pipelines, model versioning, monitoring, rollback strategies).
Responsibilities
- Leveraging Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) to enhance Electric Distribution workflows and productivity.
- Creating and managing long-term goals, budgets, operating plans, and business cases to achieve prescribed programmatic objectives, including the deployment of Generative AI-powered solutions.
- Researching, developing, and implementing Generative AI solutions to support business stakeholders.
- Collaborating with Electric Distribution business teams to refine processes—particularly those leveraging Generative AI and advanced analytics.
- Supporting contract negotiations and regulatory filings, including RFPs, while maintaining compliance and execution standards.
- Monitoring budgets, establishing project timelines and milestones, and managing scope, scope changes, and project costs.
- Driving customer outreach and ensuring fulfillment of customer commitments.

- Hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking).
