Xcel Energy's Open Access Transmission Tariff (OATT) Team seeks a student intern to learn and lead transmission service evaluation and studies, providing program and technical leadership to Public Service Company of Colorado (PSCo)/Xcel Energy.
Requirements
- Enrolled in an ABET-accredited engineering program, with an electrical engineering emphasis.
- Completed at least 2 years of undergraduate engineering coursework, including coursework in power engineering
Responsibilities
- Develop and update internal databases.
- Support preparation of study reports, summaries, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders regarding studies and findings.
- Research historical, current, and proposed OATT provisions.
- Collaborate with transmission planning and modeling, resource planning, substation and transmission line engineering, regulatory affairs and transmission business relations teams to ensure accuracy and consistency in OATT program study methodologies and outcomes.

- Current student, Junior or Senior status (as of Fall 2026).
- Able to commute to the corporate office (T3 in River North) in Denver, CO
- Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week)/ part-time during the school year (up to 20 hours a week)
- 3.0 GPA (out of a 4.0 scale) or higher
