S&C Electric Company is seeking an Electrical Engineer Intern to assist with testing activities, design and build test equipment, and work on process and efficiency improvement projects within their Smart Grid solutions.
Requirements
- 0-1 years of experience configuring and using electrical and/or mechanical equipment including power supplies, controllers, software, bus work, and wiring.
- Basic computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- coursework in power systems, distribution and/or transmission systems, AC machines, energy systems.
Responsibilities
- Configure and use data acquisition equipment, power supplies, controllers, and software for upcoming tests in the lab.
- Assemble electrical and mechanical components, bus work, and wiring with the use of hand tools (e.g. drill, screwdriver, wrench, crimper)
- Troubleshoot and maintain the lab’s equipment
- Assist and guide other departments working in the lab on the use of the lab’s equipment
- Assemble custom test equipment or fixtures for upcoming tests in the lab
- Occasionally operate energized equipment
Other
- Full-time Summer 2026 Internship
- Be enrolled full-time in a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree program, majoring in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Occasionally travel for training
- Work in a team environment with engineers from throughout the company
