Bastian Solutions is looking for an Electrical Engineer I to support the ongoing development, maintenance, and improvement of existing products across their vehicle and automation product lines by executing engineering changes, resolving defects, and validating updates.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with schematic capture and PCB design tools (e.g., Altium, OrCAD, Mentor Graphics).
  • Exposure to cable harness design and documentation practices.
  • Basic understanding of embedded systems and microcontroller-based designs.
  • Experience using lab equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and data acquisition systems.
  • Exposure or experience with AutoCAD Electrical, Solidworks Electrical, Altium Designer, Studio 5000, and/or other eCAD & PLC software packages.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and development of embedded electronic circuits and system-level electrical architectures for new product variants.
  • Implement and support engineering changes (ECOs) for existing products, including defect resolution and incremental design improvements.
  • Create and update electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and cable harness designs.
  • Support embedded circuit updates and limited firmware modifications under guidance.
  • Perform validation and functional testing of updated or revised electrical systems using lab instruments and data acquisition equipment.
  • Document design changes, test results, and updates in the company's PLM or document control system.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving for product defects or field issues.

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or related field.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience in electrical design, testing or vehicle systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional engineering team.
