The company is looking to automate the implantation of its N1 implant through the design and integration of custom robotics and electrical engineering technologies.
Requirements
- Experience in full stack ownership of circuit board designs through architecture, component selection, schematic capture, PCB layout, testing, and production
- Design experience integrating microcontrollers, FPGAs, or SoMs into mixed signal PCBAs
- Practical electronics design knowledge including designing for EMC, ESD, thermals and packaging
- Competency in one of the following software languages: C, C++, Python, or Rust
- Experience designing products for IEC 60601 compliance
- Design experience with peripherals such as UART, I2C, SPI, 802.3 interfaces and camera interfaces such as MIPI-CSI
- Capable of bringing up designs by writing basic test firmware
Responsibilities
- Design, verify, and oversee the transition to production of custom electronics systems
- Own creative decisions and execute on new, impactful projects such as actuator/robotics stage designs, end effectors for robots, image-capture pipelines, telemetry systems, networking architectures, and patient sensors/tools
- Design and integrate technologies such as a 9 DOF robot for electrode implantation, compute, vision systems, optical coherence tomography tissue imaging, power electronics, copper and optical networking, and safety systems
- Design the hardware to produce consumables such as electropolished needles and laser-machined needle cartridges
- Bring-up testing and manufacturing of custom electronics systems
- Design and develop electronics for critical systems
- Integrate microcontrollers, FPGAs, or SoMs into mixed signal PCBAs
Other
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience
