GHD is looking for an Electrical Engineering Intern to support engineers and project managers on Power System projects, gaining hands-on experience in engineering studies, cost estimates, and design calculations.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program
- Very limited work based experience (0 to 3 months)
Responsibilities
- Compile data
- Assisting with CADD drawings
- Developing layouts, schematics, and schedules
- Conducting comparative engineering and economic evaluations
- Provide technical support to inspections of the quality of engineering works and/or the integrity of existing installations or structures, and the remedial works needed in accordance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
- Carry out a range of product development and engineering activities.
- Implement feasibility testing of proposed engineering solutions, under supervision, to provide feedback and contribute to validation of the design.
Other
- Contract Management: Carry out a range of contract management tasks.
- Improvement/Innovation: Implement improvements and provide feedback on them. Use change management systems and protocols to provide routine support services.
- Project Management: Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals.
- Engineering Standards Specification: Carry out a range of activities under the guidance of more senior colleagues to support the drafting of engineering standards and specifications and the evaluation of the effectiveness of those standards.
- Knowledge Management System: Help others get the most out of knowledge management systems by offering support and advice.
