Convergix is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to assist with the timely and quality completion of automation projects per customer specifications, refining design concepts into practical, manufacturable designs that meet performance, durability, and cost targets.
Requirements
- Experience with electrical design, quoting, bills of material.
- Knowledge of PLC programming is an asset.
- Working knowledge of, or familiarity with: AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Electrical
- Working knowledge of, or familiarity with: Industry Standards such as UL, IEC, etc.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft programs, such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Responsibilities
- Actively participate in creation of electrical design concepts.
- Reading and understanding technical specifications & data sheets.
- Calculation checking and vendor drawing reviews.
- Technical evaluation of bids.
- Research and specify components for use as needed.
- Research and review compliance requirements.
- Preparation of system layouts, detailed drawings, and schematics.

- Reliable transportation and an ability to travel; although this position is focused on local clients and minimal travel is required, you should have the ability to travel within US and Canada.
