Gentex is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead both their Electrical and Software Engineering teams in the development of next-generation electro-mechanical and electro-acoustic systems.
Requirements
- Expertise in digital circuit design with embedded controllers and/or digital signal processors
- Strong analog and/or audio design background (e.g., microphone amplifiers, audio filters, switching regulators)
- Familiarity with MIL-STD-461/464 testing and EMI/EMC mitigation techniques
- Proficiency with schematic capture tools (Cadence/OrCAD preferred) and mixed-signal PCB design for EMI, SI, and DFM best practices
- Skilled in use of lab instruments (oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum/network analyzers, etc.)
- Understanding of embedded software and firmware development practices
- Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC), configuration management, and version control tools (e.g., Git, Jira, DOORS)
Responsibilities
- Set technical direction, oversee cross-discipline design and development, and ensure seamless integration of hardware and software throughout the product lifecycle — from concept to production.
- Develop system architectures, block diagrams, and detailed electrical designs (RF, digital, analog, power)
- Review and approve schematic capture, PCB layouts, and designs for reliability, manufacturability, and testability
- Act as technical lead on complex development programs
- Support transition to production with test strategies, process controls, and test equipment development
- Collaborate with cross-functional groups to achieve enterprise and departmental goals
- Drive continuous improvement through design standards, design reviews, and lessons-learned practices
Other
- 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus in new product design and development.
- 2-5 years of experience in supervision desired
- Experience in military programs desired
- Security clearance desired or ability to obtain.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and engage cross-disciplinary engineering teams
