The Sheriff's Department needs an Electronic Discovery Data Analyst to manage the processing of data for litigation, Freedom of Information Act requests, subpoena duces tecum, and other investigative efforts, working closely with the Legal Department to provide essential discovery services.

Requirements

  • Understand how to craft search terms using BOOLEAN logic.
  • Skill and experience with complex search syntax, utilizing both Office 365 eDiscovery searches and eDiscovery software.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
  • Possesses knowledge of configuration of end user hardware.
  • Familiarity of but not limited to hard drive removal, wireless telephone equipment, iPads and other non-Apple tablets and data storage related to all the above.
  • Ability to write queries to validate data when questioned by users.
  • Knowledge of data creation, management & implementation via Excel spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for processing data using reduction strategies such as de-duplication, searching, date range filtering, document type filtering as requested.
  • Executing litigation hold processes.
  • Responsible for converting data and creating load files for client specific software packages such as Relativity, IPRO, Summation and Concordance, etc.
  • Perform in-depth quality control of all work performed
  • Responsible for processing video editing requests including redaction, linear editing and simple cutting.
  • Helping to create ESI preservation policies
  • Ensuring compliance with the new federal rules regarding ESI

Other

  • Maintain confidentiality of all information related to clients.
  • Maintain detailed data tracking on processed data for chain of custody reporting.
  • May be required to work hours outside of the regular work schedule.
  • Appear and present testimony for deposition, court order or hearing.
  • Possess excellent communication, analysis, and design skills to infer the requester's intended meaning of each request and interfaces with the client to resolve any issues or make any clarifications on the front end of the request.
