Barry University Library seeks an Electronic Resources Coordinator to manage the technical aspects of electronic resources and systems, ensuring access and discoverability for users.
Requirements
- Knowledge of current models, practices, and tools used by academic libraries for the acquisition and management of e-resources.
- Familiarity with the EBSCO suites of tools, including FOLIO.
- Focuses on the technical aspects of electronic resources, such as managing databases, authentication systems, and link resolvers.
- Creates, edits, and manages metadata for electronic resources to ensure proper indexing and discoverability.
- Troubleshoots technical issues related to electronic resources access and functionality in a timely manner.
- Evaluate the usage and effectiveness of electronic resources and make recommendations for improvements.
- Analyzes usage data for electronic resources to identify trends and inform decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Managing electronic resources through the establishment of product trials, access management, subscription renewal, and ongoing vendor relations.
- Primary contact with vendors electronic resources, including databases and e-books, with vendors.
- Negotiates and manages licenses for electronic resources, ensuring access for users.
- Works to make electronic resources discoverable through the library’s catalog and other interfaces.
- Focuses on the technical aspects of electronic resources, such as managing databases, authentication systems, and link resolvers.
- Creates, edits, and manages metadata for electronic resources to ensure proper indexing and discoverability.
- Troubleshoots technical issues related to electronic resources access and functionality in a timely manner.
