L3Harris is looking for an Electronic Technician Intern to assist with the testing and operation of laser rangefinders and designators in a production environment, supporting production, repairs, and engineering development. The role also involves assisting in the transition of new products from prototype to production.

Requirements

  • Be able to successfully read and understand Engineering Assembly Drawings.
  • Performs optical inspections using inferometric equipment.
  • Records, analyzes, and interprets test data, makes recommendations for improvements in yield.
  • Assists in setting up and verifying optical, electronic and environmental test equipment.
  • Assembles and tests optical, mechanical and electrical subassemblies.
  • Capable of assembling and testing of laser components, lasers and laser systems assemblies.
  • Performs any combination of following tasks to assemble laser and laser system components, subassemblies, products, or systems: Reads work orders, follows production drawings, or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on integration & testing of subsystems (e.g., multi-mode multi-sensors, analog and digital circuits, RF Communications, Inertial Sensors, Laser Transmitters, Optical Receivers) across all interfaces (i.e., mechanical, electrical, and software).
  • Analyze failure data for trends, systemic issues, and reduction/elimination of test escapements.
  • Support development of acceptance test procedures, production test plans, and test documentation from design requirements.
  • Interfacing with electrical engineers to ensure hardware producibility.
  • Support the build and modification of electronics systems including procurement support, assembly method/work instructions generation, tooling design support, material/process development, facilities/equipment planning, and resolution of manufacturing, quality, and reliability issues.
  • Support process improvement initiatives of technical and operational nature.
  • Performs optical inspections using inferometric equipment.

  • Highly interactive, willing to work in team environment
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
