Penn State is seeking an Embedded Hardware and Software Engineer to join the Embedded Systems team of the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) to research and develop innovative solutions to challenging scientific, engineering, and technology problems in support of the Navy, the Department of Defense (DoD), and the Intel Community (IC).
Requirements
- Embedded software design using C in both a RTOS and bare metal environment
- Knowledge of TCP/IP networking principles and embedded stacks
- Mixed Signal Design
- Analog to digital converters, and analog front-end design
- GCC/Eclipse based toolchains
- Linux and embedded real-time operating systems
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the development of embedded system hardware and software in the areas of sensing, robotics, and power electronics
- Participate in the specification of system requirements, and hardware software architecture design
- Design analog and digital electronic circuits and circuit boards
- Assist in the development of new projects and proposals
- Assist in the management of embedded system design and development tasks and projects
Other
- Bachelor's Degree - Engineering or Science
- 2+ years of relevant experience
- U.S. citizen to apply
- Ability to obtain a government security clearance
