Amazon Leo is looking to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites to provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world, and extend its capabilities to US Government customers such as NASA, DoD, and other National Security customers
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C-Sharp, C++, Java, or Perl experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Rust
Responsibilities
- Develop embedded system software to meet unique Government customer needs
- Demonstrate the capabilities of the interfaces and architectures you define in a simulated test environment you help develop
- Solve complex technical problems related to the use of the Leo constellation for Government customers as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Lead internal and vendor teams to develop and deliver on software and interface requirements
- Ensure systems meet Leo and Government customer performance needs including availability, reliability, upgradeability, interoperability, and security requirements
- Effectively communicate project health, risks and issues to stakeholders and management teams
- Escalate urgent issues appropriately and drive them to closure in a timely manner

- Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance of TS/SCI
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
