Requirements
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C and C++ for embedded systems.
- Strong understanding of embedded systems, embedded Linux and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
- Knowledge of communication protocols (e.g., SPI, I2C, UART) and device drivers.
- Ability to qualify, optimize and trend processes via IQ/OQ/PQ, Process Capability Studies, Designs of Experiments and Statistical Process Control.
- Having a rigorous, disciplined and hands-on approach to test and troubleshoot product assembly challenges and develop protocols that achieve product design intent.
- Ability to collaborate with product development engineers to ensure that product design intent is governed by automated and off-line product testing applications.
- Ability to anticipate potential issues before they arise by relying on prior experience and gaining new industry knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Apply experience and knowledge to bring to life state-of-the-art embedded software and fixturing technologies to the companies’ manufacturing process, specifically in support of an emerging strategy to improve manufacturing capabilities.
- Analyze project requirements and translate them into embedded software design specifications.
- Deliver the design, development, implementation and validation of robust hardware and software, and the execution of fixture designs and custom programming.
- Write efficient, reusable embedded code that interfaces with hardware components such as sensors, actuators, and communication modules.
- Take a rigorous, disciplined, and hands-on approach with internal production and quality partners to ensure embedded software systems and fixtures are validated and govern necessary elements of product design intent.
- Demonstrate embedded software reliability and help in the documentation process throughout IQ, OQ, FAT, SAT and PQ efforts.
- Partner closely with R&D to align on scope, identify success criteria, key milestones, and necessary resources to bring all assigned embedded software projects to on-time completion.
