Moog's Space and Defense Group is looking to develop solutions that support mission-critical systems on modern military platforms, and is seeking Embedded Software Engineers and Systems Engineers to help achieve this goal.
Requirements
- Strong technical foundation in either embedded real-time systems and C programming (Software Track), OR hands-on experience working with integrated hardware/software systems
- Control systems and signal processing (Systems Track)
- Embedded Linux, cybersecurity tools, or RTOS
- Experience with control theory, fire control systems, and modeling/simulation
- Experience with vulnerability assessment tools (e.g., Coverity, Fortify, Black Duck)
- Experience with network protocols and security
- Experience with defense or aerospace system development
Responsibilities
- Design, code, debug, and integrate software for embedded real-time control systems
- Work with RTOS (real-time operating systems) or embedded Linux
- Develop device drivers and communication protocols (e.g., UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, MIL-STD-1553)
- Integrate systems in lab and field environments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across hardware and systems
- Lead or support system-level design, integration, and validation of electro-mechanical subsystems
- Develop fire control algorithms and dynamic models using MATLAB/Simulink
Other
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, Software, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering, or a related technical field
- Willingness to work on-site in Goleta, CA
- Travel may be required (up to 10–15%)
- Master’s degree or specialized training in your discipline
