- Experience with 3D modeling software, preferably IES.
- Some experience with MEP design in commercial space.
Responsibilities
- Understand and be able to interpret data from architectural and MEP drawings to get a gist of the existing problem in a given building/space.
- Brainstorm and present different ideas to the team to comply with energy code before official kickoff.
- Prepare detailed energy model using software such as IES, CBECC, etc. The steps would include modeling geometry, envelope and adding HVAC systems to run the final simulation.
- Present and gather final data from the model to present to client in the form of a final energy report.
- Willing to do R&D on HVAC systems to make them more efficient in terms of energy usage and cost point of view.
- Willing to contribute to MEP design in addition to modeling to better understand the functioning of the whole building.
