Alamar is seeking an Engineer I, Software to join their multi-disciplinary team, tasked with maintaining a world-class, fully automated instrument system for high precision proteomic analysis.
Requirements
- Strong experience developing robust software and pipelines in Python; familiarity with R is a plus.
- Proficiency in software engineering principles: version control (Git/GitHub), debugging, and comprehensive testing.
- Expertise in Linux systems, including shell scripting and administration.
- Experience with modern build, deployment, and containerization environments (Docker).
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and/or AWS CDK) is a strong plus.
- Hands-on experience managing cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP).
- Experience building and consuming web APIs for data integration.
Responsibilities
- Translate biological research questions into efficient computational solutions, including the design of scalable data analysis pipelines.
- Partner with scientists to identify needs and deliver tailored bioinformatics workflows that streamline daily research.
- Write clear user guides and conduct training sessions for algorithms, pipelines, and tools.
- Act as an internal Benchling expert, leveraging APIs to build automation and analysis tools that optimize data management.
- Develop algorithms for internal needs such as inventory management and LIMS integration, driving operational efficiencies.
- Continuously improve internal software tools and visualization workflows for speed, scalability, and usability.
- Collaborate with fellow developers, share best practices, and contribute to a culture of knowledge exchange and continuous improvement.
