CenterPoint Energy is seeking to design, implement, and mature an enterprise-wide data protection strategy to safeguard sensitive information such as PII, SPII, CEII, and other critical business data. This effort supports regulatory compliance, operational resilience, and the company’s mission to be a trusted utility.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of experience in data protection, DLP engineering, or cybersecurity operations.
- Hands-on experience with DLP tools (e.g. Microsoft Purview) and DSPM platforms (e.g., Wiz, BigID, Cyera).
- Strong understanding of data lifecycle management, classification, and regulatory compliance.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow workflows and integrations is a plus.
- Certifications such as SC-400, SC-100, or CISSP are highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Partner with data owners and the Data Privacy team to identify and inventory critical data assets across the enterprise.
- Implement automated and programmatic classification of sensitive data using tools such as Microsoft Purview.
- Develop and maintain data protection policies aligned with regulatory standards (e.g., CEII, TSA, CCPA).
- Apply and tune DLP policies across email, cloud, USB, printing, and endpoint channels using Microsoft Purview and other DLP tools.
- Build dashboards, alerts, and metrics for real-time monitoring of data protection events.
- Analyze DLP alerts and logs to identify anomalies, reduce false positives, and escalate incidents as needed.
- Implement and manage data rights enforcement mechanisms to ensure appropriate access and usage of sensitive data.
