State Farm is looking to hire IT students for their Summer Internship Program to contribute to meaningful projects, gain valuable training, and make a real impact within the company. The program aims to explore new and emerging technologies, refine and expand the use of technology for employees, agents, and customers, and influence change to protect State Farm and its policyholders.

Requirements

  • Object oriented programming (Java, Python, C++, etc.)
  • Mobile development (iOS/Android)
  • Web development and/or database (SQL, MySQL, etc.)
  • AWS, Terraform, containers (docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
  • API development, Node.js, iOS development (Xcode and Swift)
  • Android development (Kotlin), Angular, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Solidity, blockchain, Git (CI/CD), Splunk, Maven, XML, Spring/Spring Boot, React, Lambda.
  • AI/Machine Learning, Data Analytics Tooling (Power BI, etc.) Salesforce.

  • Seeking full-time college or university students (Freshman, Sophomore, Juniors)
  • Courses on or Majors in Information Systems/IT or equivalent majors including but not limited to Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, Statistics and Data related majors.

  • Leadership skills through extracurricular and professional endeavors.
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment, both in-person and virtual.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.

  • The ability to work in an environment that emphasizes information sharing, collaboration, teamwork, mutual respect, and integrity.
  • Strong aptitude and desire to learn new languages and frameworks.
  • To be eligible for the summer internship program, you must be a full-time student currently enrolled in an undergraduate or post-graduate program throughout the duration of the internship.
  • At least one semester of college remaining after the summer of 2026.
  • Applicants are required to be eligible to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately; employer will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work authorization (e.g. H-1B visa) for this opportunity
  • The internship will occur between June 1, 2026 – August 7, 2026 (10 weeks)
  • We will host in-person onboarding in Bloomington, IL
  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 38.75 hours per week
  • Due to the short duration of the summer program, it is an expectation that hired interns will be available for the duration of the summer internship with little to no disruption in work schedule.
  • Work Arrangement: Remote: Qualified candidates (outside of locations listed below) may be considered for 100% remote work arrangements based on where a candidate currently resides or is currently located. Remote interns could be asked to travel to an assigned location throughout the summer for onboarding and various events.
  • Hub Locations: Dunwoody, GA; Richardson, TX; Tempe, AZ; or Bloomington, IL
  • In Person Events, Locations, and Dates: Onboarding(Bloomington, IL): May 31, 2026 - June 4, 2026
  • Second In-Person Week (Bloomington, Dunwoody, Richardson, Tempe): Week of July 6 (Subject to change)
  • Senior Trip (Dec 2026/May 2027 grads) (Tempe, AZ); Week of July 27 (subject to change)
