Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking to hire a Software Quality Engineer/Principal Software Quality Engineer to provide Software Quality support for one or more software development teams (IPTs) on the Sentinel program, ensuring process execution and compliance in the development, testing and release of software deliverables.
Requirements
- Experience in implementing Software Quality Assurance plans and knowledgeable of Software Quality Assurance processes.
- Experience in developing and/or using metrics
- Experience in evaluation, tracing, and/or analysis of requirements
- Experience in process monitoring, data collection, analysis, and metric reporting for a large program/supplier-base.
- Experience in Peer Reviews and Code Reviews
- Experience in software build testing, qualification, and Integration and Test
- Able to read and understand Software Code (C++, Java, Python)
- Ability to understand and work with multiple enterprise-wide systems and software problem tracking tools (e.g., SAP, DOORs, Jira, Confluence)
- Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology
Responsibilities
- Support individual scrum/sprint teams by attending meetings, creating Jira dashboard tools to help monitor progress and execution efficiency.
- Offer suggestions for improvement to software leadership.
- Create process health, progress and stability metrics when required
- Become fluent in the use of tools; Jira, Confluence, DOORS or others as needed
- Ensure Sentinel software is in compliance with industry standards, NG processes and contractual requirements for development of military weapon systems.
- Maintain a keen focus on employee engagement, teaming and collaboration, process improvement, rework reduction, and continuous improvement.

- Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
- Be a constructive advocate for Mission Assurance and relentlessly articulate of our Value Proposition to our stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines
- A Current/Active Top Secret clearance
- U.S. Citizenship is required for all positions with a government clearance and certain other restricted positions.
