Dotdash Meredith is looking to define and drive the technical vision and roadmap for their mobile applications across iOS and Android platforms, as well as the internal APIs and CMS that manage app content. They need to establish a mature software development lifecycle, monitor and optimize app performance, and lead a cross-functional team of mobile app developers and related technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- Deep knowledge of modern mobile app development techniques and trends.
- Broad familiarity with web application development.
- Proven experience (8+ years) in managing cross-functional teams developing iOS and Android apps.
- Deep experience with Firebase services, including Firestore, Crashlytics, and Firebase Push Notifications.
- Experience with React Native and similar cross-platform frameworks (e.g., Flutter), including state management using Redux or similar alternatives.
- Familiarity with building and managing both Swift (iOS) and Kotlin (Android) true-native applications.
- Experience with Nest.js or similar server-side frameworks (e.g., Express.js, Fastify).
- Expertise in code signing and release management for iOS and Android platforms, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and integration of APIs into front-end applications.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and project management tools (e.g., Jira).
- Familiarity with content creation tools such as image uploaders, video players, social media APIs, and other related technologies.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the technical vision and roadmap for mobile applications across iOS and Android platforms, as well as internal APIs and CMS.
- Establish and maintain a mature software development lifecycle (SDLC) for mobile app updates on both iOS and Android platforms.
- Implement robust testing processes to ensure performance, reliability, and security of mobile applications.
- Ensure compliance with platform-specific guidelines for app-store approvals.
- Monitor app performance using analytics tools and continuously optimize performance based on user feedback and usage data.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a cross-functional division of mobile app developers, CMS engineers, QA and other technical stakeholders.
- Manage the end-to-end app release process, including code signing, provisioning profiles, and certificates for both iOS and Android platforms, and CI/CD pipelines.

- Salary: $190,000 - $225,000
- The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance.
