American Foods Group is looking for an Engineering Intern to gain knowledge and understanding of the business through hands-on activities, coaching, and projects, with the goal of providing technical input into optimizing and modifying existing production processes to improve efficiency and reduce labor.
Requirements
- Develop understanding of PLC controls, flow meters, and other methods of controlling essential processes within production facilities.
- Gain understanding of high voltage electrical power systems and safety procedures associated with systems.
Responsibilities
- Work with corporate engineering staff for installation of process equipment within Harvest facilities.
- Develop understanding of production processes within Beef Harvest, Ground Beef, and Value Add facilities.
- Develop understanding of production flow and major pieces of equipment within facilities
- Provide technical input into optimizing and modifying existing production processes to improve efficiency and reduce labor.
- Develop basic understanding of plant maintenance practices
- Develop understanding of utility and waste treatment systems such as hydraulics, potable water systems, compressed air, steam generation, and waste water.
- Develop knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems along with PSM/RMP requirements.

- Must have completed your Junior year at a credited College or University
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Have the desire and ability to work well both independently and cross functionally
