Hubbell Incorporated is looking for an intern to join their R&D group to develop test plans and perform product testing for complex industrial products, specifically intelligent switchgear used by electric utilities. The goal is to gain corporate experience, learn about the business, and prepare students for future careers at Hubbell, while also contributing to product development and process improvement.
Requirements
- Knowledge of embedded Linux OS, RTOS, embedded software build flow, make process etc.
- Hands-on experiences with hardware debugging and testing.
- Familiarity working with 16bit, 32bit microcontrollers and DSP.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Perl, Python, etc.
- Ability to understand Product development process, complex engineering products,
- Ability to operate various lab test equipment and be comfortable with them,
- Strong ability to troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis.
Responsibilities
- Perform product testing based on defined use-cases and requirements,
- Report bugs, issues in the ADO (Azure DevOps),
- Work with development team to understand product requirements,
- Learn various Engineering processes and interact with various internal groups to report test results, learn application use-cases etc.
- Operate various test equipment, test sets, Oscilloscope, DMMs etc. required for product testing, and troubleshooting.
- Help with requirements breakdown analysis as required.
Other
- Enrollment in an accredited university working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree related to the internship (required)
- Minimum 3.0 GPA (required)
- Willing to work in a fast-paced, goal-oriented product development environment.
- Providing a presentation to the local management team at the end of the program.
- Must be able to work in an office environment for 5 days/week.
