Xcel Energy is looking for interns to support transmission line projects, both capital and maintenance, and to perform entry-level engineering analyst tasks across various aspects of transmission line engineering.
Requirements
- Enrolled in an ABET accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Completed 2 years of undergraduate coursework, including classes in applicable engineering disciplines
Responsibilities
- Work with the Engineering staff to support transmission line projects, both capital and maintenance.
- Work as an entry level engineering analyst doing tasks spanning all aspects of transmission line engineering including performance/efficiency, contract and project management, specifying new and replacement equipment, making process improvement recommendations, supporting requests from operations and maintenance.
Other
- Current student, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior status (as of May 2026).
- Able to commute to the corporate office in Denver, CO or Amarillo, Texas.
- Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week) with potential part-time during the fall (up to 20 hours a week).
- 3.0 GPA (out of a 4.0 scale) or higher
