The Engineering Leadership Development Program (ELDP) is designed to accelerate the development of highly qualified, motivated engineers by exposing them to diverse program types, business units, geographic locations, and elements of the design lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Utilize modeling tools and equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests, and evaluate results
  • Utilize a variety of software languages (i.e., C++, C, C, Java, Ruby, HTML5, XML, SQL, Perl, Python, Ajax, Qt) on Windows, Linux, mobile platforms, and embedded real time operating systems (VxWorks, Linux, QNX, Integrity, Windows CE, and others for Motorola, Intel, TI, and custom processor designs)
  • CAD or analysis (FEA) tools exposure, and/or experience in mechanical design or analysis of electronic systems, structures and mechanisms
  • Familiarity with transducer instrumentation, data collection and or automation and software programming for numerical analysis
  • Must be able to apply the principles of Structural Mechanics to predict internal stresses and structural instabilities
  • Must be able to generate free body diagrams, determine reaction forces, calculate internal loads, and develop shear and moment diagrams
  • Working knowledge of one programming language

Responsibilities

  • Provide mechanical engineering support for both new product development activities as well as factory support of existing products
  • Translate product requirements into a mechanical specification and test plan to be used for development
  • Execute verification testing as defined by the mechanical specification and test plan
  • Conduct design analysis and testing, both structural and thermal, to prove design will meet customer requirements
  • Responsible for understanding customer needs, generating test procedures and finally executing the test
  • Apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis concepts and principles in the development of software for the target application
  • Work closely with cross functional members of the engineering organization to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, and operational performance requirements and design of the overall system

Other

  • Ability to relocate every 12 months for the 3-year duration of the program.
  • Participants are also paired with a mentor to guide their development through the program.
  • Participants will have access to education assistance, robust training, and cross-functional engagement to accelerate their career growth.
