Requirements
- Experience with new product introduction processes, and formalized tools such as 3D, FMEA, QFD, 6 sigma approaches, etc.
- Ability to translate customer requirements into concepts based on our standard product platforms
- Knowledge and experience leading technical discussions with customers to secure project wins
- Global Technical expert for Calmark and Birtcher product line (applications support, Quality, customer projects)
- Technical leadership for Production and Quality support
- Define Engineering processes and manage resources (CAD Vault, ECO tool, etc.)
- Checking technical feasibility of projects, developing product specs, and cost estimates
Responsibilities
- New Product Development responsibilities for Calmark and Birtcher product line:
- Lead NPD Engineers through cross-functional development projects
- Ensure 3D processes are followed and identify opportunities for improvements
- Execute New Product Development actions per product roadmap
- Sustaining Engineering responsibilities for San Diego site:
- Manage Engineering release of new configurations (standard and modified) – EAR process
- Manage ECO process for changes to BOM’s, manufacturing routers, and drawings
Other
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or other Engineering discipline required; MS or MBA preferred.
- Ideally 8+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience
- 5+ years of Engineering leadership experience in manufacturing industry preferred
- Demonstrated success in leading a team of engineers, preferably in precision machining or metal fabrication
- 2+ years of experience working with customers including projects, presentations, and meetings
